Experienced Tax Manager

Location: Carmel, IN

Dauby O'Connor and Zaleski, LLC is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team. You'll have the opportunity to interact directly with our clients, providing exceptional client service, while managing tax engagements in a fast-paced environment.

This position is located in our Carmel office with the option to work remotely one day per week, as per company policy.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide tax compliance for partnerships and not-for-profits in the affordable housing and community development industry.
  • Provide tax compliance for corporations and individuals in the real estate industry.
  • Develop client relationships by providing timely and unmatched client service, exceeding client expectations.
  • Assist in managing, developing, and mentoring professional tax staff.
  • Review returns prepared by tax staff.
  • Effectively delegate responsibilities to others and monitor efforts of tax teams, when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other tax seniors, managers, and leaders in the firm in workflow management and development of personnel.
  • Successfully research complex tax issues, apply findings to projects in a practical manner, and clearly communicate those findings to both clients and internally.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and current CPA license
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Must have a strong sense of ownership for delivering high quality service
  • Excellent team building and workflow management skills
  • Advanced tax technical and research skills in federal and state taxation
  • Candidate must be able to maintain a calm demeanor in stressful circumstances
  • Candidate must be flexible and comfortable working in a team-oriented and collaborative management environment
  • Hours required during peak season (60-70 hrs/week)
  • Proficiency with utilizing a professional tax software (Prosystems/Axcess is a plus)
