What to Expect
This is a full-time, in-office internship running from January through mid-March. Interns work an average of 55 hours per week, with peak weeks reaching up to 65 hours during the height of busy season. We share that upfront so you can come in prepared and with a clear understanding of the experience.
What You'll Do
Complete a structured onboarding and training program before working on client engagements
Participate in all phases of an audit, including planning, fieldwork, and financial statement preparation
Collaborate with an Audit team to help complete more than 35 audits from start to finish
Prepare draft audit reports for review and feedback from senior team members
Manage work across multiple client engagements simultaneously, building experience in the affordable housing and community development industry
Meet regularly with your in-charge to review progress and continue developing your skills
What We're Looking For
Accounting major working toward the credit-hour requirements needed to sit for the CPA exam
Cumulative GPA and major GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
Completion of at least one intermediate accounting course before the internship begins preferred
Ability to take leave from spring semester classes and commit to 55 or more hours per week during the internship
Reliable transportation to and from the office
Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship
Entrepreneurial, hardworking, and adaptable, with strong critical-thinking skills and a willingness to take on new and challenging assignments
What You'll Get
Compensation: This position pays $29.00 to $48.00 per hour. Actual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, experience, and, where applicable, other job-related factors permitted by law
This position is not eligible for bonuses, commissions, or employee benefits, except as required by applicable law
This pay range reflects a good-faith estimate of the compensation for this position in accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws
Real experience working through the same busy season as full-time Associates
Mentorship at three levels: a DOZ Buddy for day-to-day support, a Partner or Principal Lead for professional development, and an HR Lead for overall guidance
Honest, regular feedback so you know where you stand and how to improve
Close collaboration with your team throughout the internship
